I'm Katie, a current media & communications assistant, and a future social media manager/talent with a professional sports team.
I've resided in the sports world for almost 20 years as an athlete and am looking forward to bringing my talents, creativity, and perspectives to the realms of sports media marketing and sports journalism.

Social Media Content Creator
former
sec student-athlete
with a desire to bring
humanity to sports.
My dream of working in sports stems from wanting to know who athletes are behind the gear, off the field, and on their off days.
Having been a collegiate athlete myself, I know firsthand that being an exceptional athlete is the very tip of iceberg of who someone is as a human being. Sports marketing and NIL deals are becoming so successful because sports fans connect better with who these athletes are as humans than with what their stats are.
My dream is to be the one asking the questions and telling these stories, and I believe that my experience as an athlete gives me a unique perspective in this role.
I currently work freelance in the sports creative world. As a part-time Media & Communications Assistant for PRO5 Baseball Academy in Raleigh, NC, I manage all social platforms, create and edit photo, video, and graphic content, conduct interviews with staff and players, structure and schedule content for optimal marketing, and more. I also manage the social media platforms and create photo and video content for Diamondfit Performance, a strength and conditioning facility located in the Raleigh area.
I also am a freelance college football writer for Gridiron Heroics and FanSided where I primarily cover SEC football and women’s basketball, respectively. In addition, I am currently in the process of starting my own podcast where I will discuss the untold stories of college athletics and interview various athletes from different sports about their athletic experiences.
